Annotation. The article analyzes the European experience of creating and functioning a transcontinental transport and logistics system on the example of Portugal in the period from 1961 to 1974.

Annotation. The article considers and defines the concepts of freight forwarder and carrier, including by type of transport. The principal differences between a freight forwarder and a carrier are accumulated and formulated. A brief analysis of the differences in the rights and obligations, as well as the responsibility of the freight forwarder and the carrier under the contract of freight forwarding and cargo transportation is considered and carried out.
Annotation. The possibility of lifting the ban on the transportation of high-capacity containers in universal rolling stock (in gondola cars) and potential effects on the transport market is considered. Concrete steps are proposed to build logistics chains of transportation that balance the interests of the infrastructure owner, carrier, cargo owners and rolling stock operators.

Annotation. Today, the issues of expanding sea routes in order to save time and money when transporting goods are more relevant than ever. In the 2010s, the People's Republic of China put forward a proposal for the joint projects of the «Silk Road Economic Belt» and the «Maritime Silk Road of the XXI Century». In April 2019, at the second international forum «Belt and road» in Beijing, Moscow received a proposal with the initiative of linking the Chinese project «Belt and road» with the Northern sea route.
Annotation. The object of this study is container transportation of goods through the countries of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU), the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the European Union (EU). The relevance of this topic is due to the existence of certain barriers and the need to overcome them for the development of cargo turnover in this direction.
