The solution of the problem of creating an efficient regional distributive infrastructure is inextricably linked with the expansion of geography and directions of construction of industrial parks. The article contains methodical approaches to solving the urgent problem of Projecting and construction logistics industrial parks – business processes that are the basis of their functioning.
This paper describes the approach of modeling a regional warehouse infrastructure taking major social and economic indicators into account. The methodology enables to consider delivery of various goods by different means. The proposed approach determines optimal geographic location and capacity for each of warehouses in a backbone network in a given region of the Russian Federation.

This research identifies major socio-economic indicators that influence subdivision of areas and towns in Volgograd region into groups. Normalized coefficients determining contribution of each variable to a discriminant canonical function are calibrated for all key performance indicators. Higher values of those variables for a particular area of the region suggest locating a general use warehouse in a corresponding group.
The article deals with the transport corridor Rail Baltica. Using SWOT-analysis conclusions about the perspectives of the transport corridor were made. Without the involvement of Russian freight and passenger traffic, this project would not be viable.
