The article considers the problem of improving the efficiency of distribution centers (warehouses) while reducing costs through implementation of modern technologies. As an example, considers departmental military production and logistics complex (PLC), created by the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation in the framework of the program «Efficient army».
The paper identifies the causes of commodity losses on warehouse and proposes methods of their reduction on the basis of studying Russian and foreign experience. Perspective directions of technical and technological methods of reduction of the stock losses minimizing influence of human factor are offered.

The article is devoted to modern logistics technologies of picking aimed at increasing the efficiency of the warehouse operation by reducing the length of the picking process. The main conditions for using warehouse technologies are described and the problems of introduction into the warehouse are considered.
