Frankfurt, 11 April 2016 – The future of intralogistics and its markets: these are the main topics for the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association at the CeMAT 2016 in Hanover. From 31 May to 1 June 2016, interested trade visitors to the VDMA Pavilion on open-air site L19 can benefit from exclusive discussion events to gain an insight into current research projects in the field of intralogistics and in selected markets.
Logistics as a success factor
Logistics and supply chain management are a crucial part of the value adding chain. Whether in classic procurement or production logistics, logistics is becoming increasingly important right across all the branches. “There is therefore also a growing need for modern, smart technologies and concepts for logistics processes. At the CeMAT, exhibitors from Germany and abroad will be showing their trends and solutions for meeting all requirements along the entire supply chain,” explains Sascha Schmel, Managing Director VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association.
Growing demand is being registered above all by German manufacturers of materials handling and intralogistics systems. Last year they achieved a production volume of €20.1bn, with a further 3% growth anticipated by the association for the current year. Greater investment is being made above all in branches at close proximity to the final consumer, such as e-commerce or the automotive sector.
From the VDMA CeMAT programme
In the VDMA Pavilion, attention will focus on the potential of intralogistics for further development. “We want to supplement the extensive exhibition portfolio at the CeMAT by looking ahead to the technical possibilities of the future and to interesting foreign markets for the manufacturers”, says Sascha Schmel. During the daily discussion sessions, experts will be giving an insight into selected topics and will also be available to answer individual questions and provide specific information. Registrations can be submitted until 11 April 2016 on foerd.vdma.org/cemat.
Logistics IT and Automation Forum
One central element of the coming CeMAT will be the Logistics IT and Automation Forum in Hall 27. On each day of the show, visitors will appreciate an interesting mixture of lectures and fascinating discussions covering all aspects involved in IT and automation. This includes for examples the challenges of the digital supply chain, smart devices or robots in intralogistics. Visitors will also be able to find out about topical IT issues such as Big Data, cloud, security, integration or traceability in the logistics context. The Forum’s partners include among others the VDMA Software Association, Fraunhofer IML and the trade publications DVZ and LOGISTIK HEUTE.
