Moscow, 14 March, 2016 – JLL, Russia and CIS had been granted as “The first in the country” BREEAM Awards 2016 for its certifications of two business centers in Azerbaijan and Singapore. Russian professionals were the first time represented on the Award ceremony and had received recognition for their efforts.
JLL, Russia & CIS was the first to achieve a BREEAM International New Construction certification in Azerbaijan for the Baku White City Office Building which is the first building of the biggest redevelopment projects in Asia, and a BREEAM In-Use assessment for Chevron House in Singapore constructed in 1993. Both assets attained ‘Good’ rating.
Besides, grade A office project Greendale, owned by O1 Properties, planned in Moscow and certified at Interim stage by JLL, Russia and CIS, was nominated as one of the highest scored BREEAM office projects worldwide in 2015.
BREEAM Awards is a prestigious annual event intended to reward high achievers of the construction industry and build environment. The Awards ceremony recognises achievements of those involved in the specification, design and construction of buildings, assessed against BREEAM scheme. All nominees are pre-selected based of fair basis by BRE Global team and entering the competition, based on highest rated scores. Buildings are assessed in different categories depending on their use (office, retail, residential) and stage of development (in-Use, new construction). The top scorers are judged by the panel of independent, industry juries who make the final decision on the winner. BREEAM Awards also provides awards to assessors and assessor companies.

With over 1,500 green building accredited professionals globally, JLL provides local market expertise in global sustainability trends. JLL Sustainability Services department was established in Russia in 2012 and had demonstrated active growth. More than 30 buildings in Russia and CIS countries (approx. 1.2 m sq m) were certified during past 3 years by JLL, representing 30% of the Russian and CIS market share. Among the most acknowledged certifications there are such projects as FIFA 2018 Stadiums, business center in Skolkovo, business centers owned by O1 Properties, industrial properties of Radius Group and Raven Russia, and many other projects.
