The result of 2021 was a strong growth in cargo transportation. According to market participants ' forecasts, the physical and material increase in assets ranged from 10% to 50%. However, despite the success of the previous year, logistics operators were unable to fully meet the demand for their services from October to December. In addition, the current situation on the market does not help to get out of the situation: a shortage of drivers in the staff and logistical problems at the borders associated with both Covid restrictions and difficulties at the borders of Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The outgoing year was a golden period for marketplaces - the share of e-commerce continues to increase. In addition, the demand for industrial cargo delivery in the B2B segment increased, which is associated with the economic recovery after the main wave of the pandemic.
The growth of interest in warehouse real estate in the regions was the first in terms of replication and the second most important information guide in the industry. Farid Madani, General Director of Delovye Linii Group of Companies, notes: "If earlier the key distribution centers were concentrated in Moscow, now the regions are taking over this function for prompt delivery of orders to customers. In addition, many companies began to move away from centralized deliveries through the capital, which led to the development of regional routes. In addition, the demand for logistics outsourcing has increased – businesses want to remove non-core activity. And this applies not only to delivery, but also to warehouse services. And this is already a good foundation for the development of integrated logistics solutions."
Another trend of the outgoing year was the "whitewashing" of the market. "Gray" companies are forced to leave due to increased state control, automation and increased quality requirements. This leads to the consolidation of the Russian cargo transportation market, which was outlined even before the pandemic and continues to be relevant.
Digital transformation in the previous year laid a solid foundation for the development of IT technologies in the field of cargo transportation in 2022. Digitalization in logistics is actively developing: digital services are being improved, big data and artificial intelligence are being introduced. Transformation is taking place not only by business, but also by the state. Thus, the company announced the launch of large-scale and key projects for the industry, in which Delovye Linii Group also participates: creation of a transport and logistics corridor for UAVs on the M-11 highway and testing of IT infrastructure on the Central Ring Road, as well as the introduction of ETRN.
In addition, discussions are underway on the introduction of telemedicine mechanisms and online tachographs, the first steps are being taken to manage traffic in large cities - the introduction of passes in Moscow, the withdrawal of transit flows to bypass highways (TsKAD) and the adoption of experience by other cities with millions of residents (St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Perm, Vladivostok).
Experts predict that the development of these directions in the industry will lead to an increase in the volume of commercial cargo transportation in 2023 by 0.7% (1,536. 9 million tons).
