A delegation from Yekaterinburg headed by the Deputy Mayor for public services and amenities Yevgeny Arkhipov visited SkyWay transport manufacturers. The result of the meeting was the signing of documents that will accelerate the introduction of this innovation into the new concept of city development. It is important that implementation of this transport project, which is located at the “second level” and solves the problem of traffic jams, is planned based on extra-budgetary funds.
The visit was initiated by the President of the Group of Companies “Uralexpocenter-Euro-Asian exhibition holding” Alexander Baranov, who got to know SkyWay technology for the first time at the exhibition Energy Expo 2016. SkyWay Technologies Co. was presented personally by General designer Anatoly Yunitskiy and Head of targeted projects Dpt. Kiryl Badulin.
During the business meeting, the guests toured around workshops of the pilot production facility, examined new designs of SkyWay rolling stock and also witnessed running tests at EcoTechnoPark. The parties discussed the technical and investment issues of Skyway transport, and the prospects for specific targeted construction of SkyWay transport complexes in the Ural region.
Yekaterinburg is competing for the right to host Expo-2025, and SkyWay transport can become one of its possible advantages. Its implementation was discussed at a recent meeting at the Public chamber of Sverdlovsk region; they have already prepared a city transport scheme for the busiest routes: Uralmash, Botanika, Akademicheskiy, Vostochnaya and others. According to the Head of Administration Alexander Yacob, in case the city wins the competition for the right to host the event, its infrastructure can change significantly.
Let us recall that last December, LLC “Scientific-technical center of Scientific Research Institute Gorelectrotransport” issued certificates confirming technical features of SkyWay rolling stock and its components. The certificates were issued for unibus model U4-210 and unibike model U4-621. The certification has become a logical continuation of the recognition of innovative Skyway technology (2016, Expert Council under the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation) and the agreement on comprehensive cooperation with MIIT, the major transport University of Russia (2017).
