According to the results, in Q1 2018, vacancy has been falling since Q3 2016. New construction volume in Q1 2018 remained low, with only SEC “Milya” with GLA of 18,800 sq m, that was commissioned in Q1 2018. 11 projects with the total GLA of 229,000 sq m are planned to be opened until the end of 2018.
Marina Malakhatko, Director of CBRE Moscow Retail, said: “Vacancy rate in Moscow region has decreased by 0.3% to 8.7% compared to previous quarter. Taking into account growth of demand for new space from retailers and limited supply of new schemes (only 1 quality shopping and entertainment center was opened in Q1 2018 in Moscow region), we forecast further decrease of vacancy to 7.5-8.1% by the end of 2018, which could lead to rental rates growth.”
