Hannover. Together with six other partners, SAP, the leading name in business software, will be making its debut as a participating exhibitor at CeMAT 2016, which opens its gates to the public from 31 May to 3 June in Hannover, Germany. The company’s stand will occupy a prominent position in Hall 27, a popular visitor destination that houses the Logistics IT displays. The theme of the SAP presentation is “Networked Logistics”.
“This is SAP’s contribution to the keynote theme of this year’s CeMAT, namely ‘Smart Supply Chain Solutions’, which focuses attention on the digitalized and networked value-adding chain. Visitors to the next CeMAT will get a clear sense of the way innovative IT systems are revolutionizing logistics and opening up new possibilities within the sector”, says Dr. Andreas Gruchow as the responsible member of the Managing Board at Deutsche Messe.
In addition to the main display area for exhibits, the Logistics IT section of the show includes a forum where the latest industry trends are presented and discussed. Topics on the agenda include cloud computing, mobile devices, interfaces, intelligent tracking and tracing, network planning, Big Data, WMS, image processing and virtualization.
SAP will also be contributing to the forum, presenting a series of case studies that show how intralogistics processes can be controlled and managed in future.
SAP’s stand presentation will focus on integrated systems designed to facilitate the integration of warehouse automation, and indeed warehousing systems in general. The aim is to take intralogistics to the next level. This involves the deployment of highly innovative solutions, such as support for data glasses or smart glasses (augmented reality). Such innovations are urgently needed in view of the growing complexity of modern supply chains.
In transportation planning, too, it is of critical importance to be able to react swiftly to sudden changes in the supply networks and to factor these changes into the transport schedule as quickly as possible. At CeMAT, SAP will be showing how its Transportation Management software assists SAP customers to meet these challenges by having their entire vehicle fleet linked in to the network. As well as the tried and tested modules for transport and warehouse management and supply chain planning, SAP will be launching its latest business suite at CeMAT 2016 – the SAP S/4HANA. This next-generation solution helps businesses to prepare for digitalization and make the most of the technological transition. In terms of supply chain management, SAP S/4HANA offers user businesses the chance to configure their own value-adding chain more quickly and react immediately to any operational changes. This capability is guaranteed by real-time transmission of company data and a flexible user interface.
The S/4HANA suite from SAP cuts through the complexity of modern IT landscapes and speeds up the decision-making process. The integration of the Internet of Things and data from business and social media assists users to construct well-founded analyses and optimize their logistical processes.
