Dear readers! We present to your attention the final issue of the LOGISTICS journal in 2024. We have tried to make it rich and interesting. Today, many Russian companies operate under strict sanctions restrictions, which force them to reorient logistics flows. One of the possible solutions to this problem may be the Russia – Mongolia – China economic corridor. Details can be found in the article by Alexandra Kazunina.
VTG Rail Russia (OOO “VTG”), a Russian division of the leading European wagon hire and rail logistics company VTG AG, has signed a new contract for the supply of 250 platforms (13-9744-06) intended for the transportation of containers and tank containers with AO “Transmash” (Stock Company “Transportnoye Mashinostroyeniye”). The first platforms are joining fleet of VTG Rail Russia in the 4th quarter of 2021, and the final batch of wagons will be delivered early 2022.
Cooperation of Transmash and VTG Rail Russia has started in 2019. During this period VTG Rail Russia has acquired 439 platforms from Transmash, including brand new pocket-wagons in terms of Russian rail market. Platforms 13-9744-06 offer ideal loading capacity of max. 73 t and optimized for high-capacity containers and tank containers up to 36 t tare weight. Tie down devices and additional fitting stops on the wagon frame-work accommodate tank containers on the central part of the platform. Service life of the abovementioned wagons is 32 years.
