EFKO, the largest Russian producer of fat and oil products, and Digital Platforms Development Center, Russian sealing operator, signed a cooperation agreement. EFKO will use electronic navigation seals from Digital Platforms Development Center to ensure security and traceability of fat and oil products transported.
Seals will be used mainly on long-haul routes. EFKO plans to seal about 40 train carriages carrying more than 2,400 tonnes of its products every month. Electronic navigation seals ensure constant monitoring of transportation and restrict any unauthorized access to the cargo and its unloading potential.
System for Goods Transportation Tracking, a dedicated high-tech complex that collects, processes and displays data about transportation in real time, will be used for monitoring the traffic of sealed train carriages.
"The electronic navigation seal registers and transmits data about any events that occur with it, including any emergencies, to the System, e.g. cable being cut, seal being destroyed, or lack of communication for over a certain period. EFKO employees will be able to constantly monitor transportation and respond to any alarming events that may occur in transit," says Maksim Demenchuk, Commercial Director of Digital Platforms Development Center LLC.
