Dear readers! We present to your attention the final issue of the LOGISTICS journal in 2024. We have tried to make it rich and interesting. CEO of Digital Logistics LLC, and Thomas Kargl, member of the board of Rail Cargo Austria AG, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of information technology. The ceremony was held at the Austrian Federal Chamber of Economy (WKO) within the framework of the International Railway Congress 2019 in Vienna (Austria).
The memorandum confirmed the parties' intention to ensure a phased transition to digital technologies in the organization of international freight rail transport in transit and export-import transportation. The companies will have to develop a unified digital transport and logistics platform for conducting business on the organization of the transportation process and the development of the transit potential of cross-border rail freight. The platform should provide electronic data exchange in terms of planning and coordinating shipments, calculations and monitoring the execution of orders. The parties also agreed on the introduction of electronic document management and the provision of comprehensive, qualified information and consulting support during the project and joint activities to promote digitalization.
Cooperation involves the development Advanced Marketplace of transit and export-import shipments online, including using the Electronic Trading Platform “Freight transportation” - Russian Railways Holding (hereinafter referred to as ETP GP), the provider of which from August 1, 2018 is LLC Digital Logistics.
“Today we are taking an important step - together with our colleagues, by means of digitalization, we are bringing international freight transportation to a fundamentally new level, which significantly increases the competitiveness of railway transport. The signing of this document shows the interest and desire of our foreign partners to move to a digital format of cooperation. The next step will be the development of the project’s roadmap and its implementation. Our tasks are to ensure that all cross-cutting business processes are set up and digitized, Alexander Kochukov, Digital Logistics LLC Says.
