Dear readers! We present to your attention the final issue of the LOGISTICS journal in 2024. We have tried to make it rich and interesting. Today, many Russian companies operate under strict sanctions restrictions, which force them to reorient logistics flows. One of the possible solutions to this problem may be the Russia – Mongolia – China economic corridor. Details can be found in the article by Alexandra Kazunina.
On December 15, 2015 Yulia Kislova, Director of the «Market Guide Agency» spoke at a meeting of the Dissertation Council D 212.049.02 as an official opponent of the thesis of Pavel Sergeevich Shashkin on the theme: «Managing the Process of Material Resources Procurement at the Industrial Enterprises in the Conditions of Price Instability», on competition of a PhD degree in Economics, specialty 08.00.05 «Economics and National Economy Management: Logistics». The scientific supervisor of the thesis is Boris Alexandrovich Anikin, Doctor in Economics, Professor, Head of Logistics Chair in the State University of Management. Alexey Germanovich Nekrasov, Doctor in Economics, professor of the Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University was the first opponent.
In her speech, Yulia Kislova emphasized the urgency and complexity of the chosen theme of the thesis, especially at the present time when the industry operates under conditions of unstable economic environment, high-risk, high volatility in exchange rates and other factors that adversely affect the level of procurement prices. «The markets of non-ferrous metals ( this industry was taken by the dissertator as a case study ), where the dissertator tested the provisions of his thesis, are of particular importance, because the problems in the management of the procurement process, inadequate taking into account of price instability factors lead not only to a decrease in the efficiency of individual steel plants and metallurgical industry in general, and the deterioration of their economic indicators, but also to a decrease in tax revenues going to the state budgets of different levels», ‒ said Yulia Kislova.
Yulia Kislova underlined that, in general, the thesis work by P.S. Shashkin makes a good impression and is completed in nature: the author has formulated the problem, posed and solved a number of problems. The main results of the work, that contain scientific novelty, are the algorithm to forecast the commodity prices, based on the models of artificial neural networks, as well as the algorithm to calculate the parameters of the procurement, minimizing the total cost for the purchase of raw materials in terms of price variability for different combinations of production and transportation. It is especially valuable that economic effectiveness of the proposed recommendations is shown and justified.
As an official opponent, Yulia Kislova has formulated a number of remarks and recommendations, which P.S. Shashkin, a dissertator, will take into account in his future research work.
According to the Dissertation Council Decision Pavel Sergeevich Shashkin was awarded the degree of PhD in Economics on specialty 08.00.05 «Economics and Management of National Economy: the Logistics».
On behalf of the editorial board of the journal and the «Market Guide Agency» we congratulate Boris Alexandrovich Anikin, the scientific supervisor and the member of the Editorial Council of «LOGISTICS» journal, on the occasion of successful defense of the thesis by his student and wish him success in his future scientific work!
