Dear readers! We present to your attention the final issue of the LOGISTICS journal in 2024. We have tried to make it rich and interesting. Today, many Russian companies operate under strict sanctions restrictions, which force them to reorient logistics flows. One of the possible solutions to this problem may be the Russia – Mongolia – China economic corridor. Details can be found in the article by Alexandra Kazunina.
Valentina Dybskaya, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of Logistics School in National Research University “The Higher School of Economics” addressed to the readers of the journal from the pages of the eighth issue of the “LOGISTICS”. According to V. Dybskaya, dramatic changes in the domestic business, connected with the search for its place in the global economy, have led to extensive changes in the supply system of the country. The crisis in relations with the West, sharp turning to the East, to import substitution course, the beginning of EAEU functioning ‒ all this radically changes the economic ties and requires changes in infrastructure. In accordance with V. Dybskaya, today we are witnessing both the excess and the lack of warehouses concurrently: the system elements, built-in to serve the trade flows from Europe to Russia, are seriously underutilized, while logistics centers for Russian producers are in short supply. Such total renewal of fixed assets requires huge investments, and investments today are also in short supply. However, the process is going on, and the editors of the journal try to show its manifestations on the pages of the “LOGISTICS” journal.
In the issue you will find an interview with Alexander Khomich, CEO of Skladman USG, who will talk about the changes in the warehouse market in Russia and about the «light Industrial» segment which is gaining momentum at present.
In the article “Designing the warehouse network as an integral part of logistics infrastructure in distribution system”, written byValentina Dybskaya, the author has introduced a new formalized approach to the design of an optimal warehouse network as a part of the logistics infrastructure of the distribution system.
Vladimir Penzev is considering the problem of selecting the warehouses locations, taking into account regional characteristics, impact of local authorities' plans, transport infrastructure, availability of labor force and restrictions on construction.
Igor Barsuk proposes the algorithm for developing routes of collecting goods from the racks in a warehouse for temporary storage, which minimizes the number of routes and limits the time for the goods service and delivery of the containers with the goods stacked by a transporter to the border of the shop
In the journal, you will also find the analytical data on the warehouse real estate market in Russia, presented by Knight Frank Russia and CIS, and other materials which are interesting for branch professionals.
