Dear readers! We present to your attention the final issue of the LOGISTICS journal in 2024. We have tried to make it rich and interesting. “LOGISTICS” journal №2 of 2016 published the article written by Yulia Kislova, Director of Market Guide Agency, PhD in Economics, “Methods of calculating the commodity segments capacity of the transport and logistics services market by averaged transport leg in terms of the delivery units (“First Mile”, “Inter-Terminal”, “Last Mile”) on the example of pharmaceutical products” The article shows and substantiates the methodology of calculating the capacity of the commodity segments for the market of transport and logistics services, developed by the Market Guide Agency. Calculation of the logistics services market for commodity products by units of delivery – “First Mile”, “Inter-Terminal”, “Last mile” ‒ is based on the tariffs and averaged transport legs of products transportation in accordance with the current logistical schemes of delivery from the manufacturer (importer) to the end user. This methodology is called FI-TL-analysis (the first letters of the English terms “First Mile”, “Inter-Terminal” and “Last Mile”).
Dmitry Vishnevsky, a pharmacist, Head of transport and warehouse logistics of subsidiaries in ZAO “SIA International Ltd” put much value on this methodology. He underlined that the a study conducted by the Market Guide Agency under the direction of Yulia Kislova and devoted to the market of pharmaceutical logistics gives not only an overview of the structure of the logistics costs of the pharmaceutical market and their volumes, but also draws attention to the characteristics and complexity of the work in this segment. According to Dmitry Vishnevsky, well-described methodology, structured information and simple calculations will allow people, who are familiar with the logistics, to get a general idea of the logistical side of the most non-public market in Russia, and the professionals of the companies, who see the prospects for the development of their logistics services in this market, will be able to use the results of this study and to develop the strategy of entering this market and winning the share in this segment.
