The fifth issue of the “LOGISTICS” journal of 2018 has been published

The spring of 2018 was full of events. In April we took part in the TransRussia exhibition 2018, then we left for the CeMAT exhibition in Hanover, where according to traditions “LOGISTICS” journal presented a digest in English – RUSSIAN LOGISTICS JOURNAL – to the audience. Then we left Hanover for Ireland to be present at the opening of a new plant of the Combilift company. The report materials on the results of these events can be found on the pages of the new issue.

The events of recent weeks have clearly demonstrated that the logistics industry is moving along the path of innovation, opening up new opportunities for all its participants. Due to technology, the company has got such competitive advantages as reduction of services cost, improvement of quality, increase of productivity. For example, company COMITAS recommends using automated high-speed sorting systems INTERROLL to achieve the set goals. The companies STILL and KION Baoli demonstrate the rapid development of modern warehouse equipment to the world. This equipment can make the production processes in the warehouse as efficient as possible. 

Timur Kurbanov, our author, also considers the issues of cost reduction due to the introduction of modern technologies, departmental military production and logistics complexes (PLC) created by the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation being the case. 

Along with the state, the enterprises of many large companies are trying to automate business processes by implementing ERP, CRM, BI and other business management systems. Apart from them there are the integrated planning systems (IBP). In their article Mikhail Nelkin and Fedor Egorov describe the essence of IBP-system and how to implement such solutions.
