Oleg Nikolaevich Kurbatov, the Editor-in- chief of the “LOGISTICS” journal, PhD in Geography, addressed to the Readers with his opening words. According to him, in recent years the format, structure and volume of the transport and logistics market in Russia have significantly changed. In many regions, high-quality logistics infrastructure has been created, and measures are taken to improve legal and regulatory framework.
Lately there have emerged problems and challenges, and without their solving it is impossible to develop the national transport and logistics system further. The most notable of them are: low level of the synchronization process, lack of the universally accepted standards, uneven distribution of logistics infrastructure on the territory of Russia. It is difficult to provide quality logistics services throughout the entire supply chain, so the achievements of many domestic 3PL-operators do not always correspond to the performance of colleagues from the developed countries. There still remains an acute problem of inadequate staff.
Solution of these problems can be only systematic, taking into consideration the parameters of all the tasks and obtaining the synergetic effect. On its pages the “LOGISTICS” journal publishes the best articles aimed at solving these problems.
Undoubtedly, readers will get interested in the article by Andrei Knyazev “One more 100th anniversary of the Trans-Siberian Railway”, where the author explores the historical experience of the railway construction, formulating the proposals to reconstruct some elements of the national transport infrastructure in accordance with modern realities.
Valentina Dybskaya and Margarita Posternakova consider the typical problems of the main stages implementation and key indicators to assess the effectiveness of the orders management process in their article “Functional and process approach to orders execution when servicing the customers”. Vladimir Klepikov speaks about the study of logistics infrastructure of the Caspian region and reveals the alternative routes for transporting Caspian oil. Tatiana Rodkina explores in her article the problems and prospects of regional logistics development in terms of bilateral cooperation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia, she emphasizes the need to modernize agricultural logistics and create warehouse complexes.
Dmitry Ushakov describes in his article the ways to provide a synergistic effect in the process of organizing the delivery of the Russian Far Eastern products to the regions of Central Russia. Vasily Demin says on the results of the study: “Logistics Development in Russia: current situation, outlook, key challenges and priorities of companies”. Alexey Tyapukhin and Valery Chertykovtsev ground methodical approach to structuring the logistics processes in supply chains.
“LOGISTICS” journal still remains one of the main sources of information in the industry, the staff expend a lot of efforts to select the effective practices and solutions for logistics specialists. Annual studies of the logistics industry development are conducted with the participation of the journal, materials of these studies contribute much to identifying the trends in logistics and working out the appropriate and effective strategies for companies.
