Vitaly Borsch, acting MADI Rector, Doctor in Engineering addressed to Readers with introductory words. «This edition of the oldest Russian journal on logistics has been prepared jointly with the organizing committee of XIX Moscow International Logistics Forum (MILF) and includes the Forum basic materials. The Readers will be the first to get acquainted with the reports included in the MILF program, analytical data, development forecasts, the latest techniques and technologies used in logistics and supply chain management» ‒ said V. Borsch.
Cooperation of the journal and the Forum began in 1997 when the first Moscow International Logistics Forum took place. Since then «LOGISTICS» has been one of the leading periodicals that publish research and analysis materials, key articles on innovations in logistics, as well as practical methods of optimization of logistic processes. Joint work is conducted not only during the preparation and conducting of MILF, but also throughout the year. The results are the studies carried out with the participation of the MADI Coordination Council on Logistics, publication works of MADI leading scientists and experts and joint work in the Editorial Board of the journal.
In the coming 2016 year for the majority of Russian companies the objectives to optimize the logistics processes and costs, to implement methodology for integrated supply chain management are more relevant than ever. Under unstable financial situation in the domestic and international markets and the slowdown of macroeconomic indicators for the many production, distribution and logistics companies the formation of modern logistics competences becomes a priority trend to increase economic efficiency and sustainability.
MILF ‒ 2016 program is devoted to dealing with these and related tasks, the program including more than 40 reports and presentations. The largest Russian and foreign experts will talk about their experience of the organization and optimization of logistics, including the representatives of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Works, X5 Retail Group, «M-Video», Fraunhofer IFF, REHAU, Lanxess, «Eldorado» and others.
Every year more than 400 experts in the field of logistics, supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, distribution, information technology, as well as the owners and top managers of major companies participate in the Forum events.
