Annotation. The article provides an overview and analysis of the application of logistics and logistics approaches to the transportation of various goods in various types of communications, as well as for military operations from the time of the Phoenician state to the present day. It is said that the terms «logistics» and «logistics approach», as well as «multimodal», «intermodal» and other types of mixed transportation involving various types of transport with a variety of approaches to their interpretation and understanding have been used in human activity since ancient times, especially when moving goods in all types of communications, as well as in the military field.
