GEFCO is a partner of National sailing league in Russia

GEFCO Russia became a logistics partner of the National sailing league, supporting the largest project of the All-Russian Sailing Federation. 

GEFCO being an official partner of the project took care of transporting sailboats and the relevant equipment by road to all participants of the National sailing league in 8 stages both Top and Premier divisions, covering a wide geography from Saint-Petersburg to Vladivostok. The company elaborated the detailed plan for each single regatta offering to teams a wide range of logistics services. GEFCO has already successfully transported the sailboats and relevant equipment for 6 regattas held in Sochi, Konakovo and St. Petersburg. The whole project includes the transportation of eight sailboats under two divisions.

Our cooperation became the first Russian experience of rendering logistics services for sports events at such a level. Sailing is speed, overcoming difficulties, achievement of results i.e. all that we share in our own business. In addition, opportunities that we provide the participants with, demonstrate such GEFCO values as understanding of clients’ goals and tasks, high quality service, adaptation and risk management in the interest of clients’.

In 2018 season the National sailing league holds 6 stages of competitions for 27 strongest Russian teams of the Top division and 6 stages of competition for 24 teams of the Premier division. The current 4^th season will be the most mass event in the project’s history. The regattas are held in Sochi, Sevastopol, Moscow, Pskov, Ekaterinburg, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod from 1 March to 10 November, 2018.

First of all, the team location always changes, the other thing is the equipment related to the projects including J/70 sport sailboats on which the best Russian yachtsmen compete. Lean and quick and efficient transportation of the fleet is the basis of the League quality and we could entrust such a task to the leaders of the market only, GEFCO to be precise’, – Igor Ignatov, General Director National sailing league, comments.

Earlier in 2017 GEFCO rendered the logistics support to navigator Yvan Bourgnon who sailed alone from Alaska to Greenland through the Northwest and set a world record. GEFCO transported its 6m catamaran from Antwerp port (Belgium) to Nom in a short time as possible and it enabled him to heave up the anchor and sail within the period of ice melting. The project was fully implemented by GEFCO Freight Forwarding, specializing on multimodal transportations.
