CBRE is appointed to exclusively represent Stage Entertainment in search of a new theatre venue in Moscow.
Founded in 1998 by Dutch television and theatre entrepreneur Joop van den Ende, Stage Entertainment is one of the world’s largest theatre producers and owners. The company has earned a reputation as a first-class theatrical production company focusing on Europe. With offices in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Russia, France, Italy and the United States, the group produces some of the best-known titles in musical theatre. The company stages licensed productions from its world-renowned partners as well as new, original productions created entirely in-house. Over 7 million visitors attend 50 performances of Stage Entertainment production every year.
Stage Entertainment’s business strategy comprises three key activities: producing a wide range of leading international content, including shows like Mamma Mia!, The Lion King, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, War Horse, Mary Poppins, and Wicked; owning and operating a network of musical theatres; and developing new musicals and shows.
In order to ensure world – class performances, the new theatre centre will accommodate 1,500 spectators and meet the complex technical requirements, primarily to the stage itself.
Stage Entertainment has successful experience of creating a modern theater complex in the center of the Russian capital. In 2012, the former Pushkin cinema gained a new name – Russia - and was redeveloped for a theater. The Little Mermaid new musical performance was the first musical of Stage Entertainment on the new venue (October 6, 2012). The new infrastructure necessary for the modern high-tech musical performances appeared as a result of the complete technical re-equipment of the historic building.
Marina Malakhatko, Director of CBRE Moscow Retail, said: “This project to is one of the most interesting for our team in 2018. We will search the market for theatre premises for Stage Entertainment in Moscow. We are looking for both completed platforms with great potential, as well as for the opportunities of a build-to-suit of a stand-alone theater options with further lease and transparent commercial terms that will allow the developer to receive a return on investments in 5-7 years. Our clients, developers of shopping and entertainment complexes, of course, are interested in the theater as a tenant, because it is a reliable partner with an impeccable credit history and guaranteed traffic. Theatre - is also a unique feature for a "superregional" shopping center.”
