Orient Metal (“Steel Property Construction LLC”), a member of Orient Group, presented a sample fitting platform designed for transportation of 20- and 40-foot rail containers.
The company plans, at the first stage, to set up production capacity of up to 200 railcars per year in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The types of steel used in the production of the platform are 09G2S 14th grade, 10HSND and 38XS.
"We decided to expand our production activities because we see quite high demand from major customers. For example, "Uzbekistan Railways" has a demand of up to 200 units per year. In addition, partners from the EU and CIS, as well as UzAuto Motors, a Chevrolet car production plant in Uzbekistan, became interested in the project," commented Dilshod Shukurov, managing director of the metallurgy business dimension of the group.
Technical characteristics of fitting platform allow loading two 40-foot or four 20-foot containers on one car at once. Platform prototypes will undergo mileage tests in July-August. Completion of preliminary acceptance and certification tests, as well as obtaining the certificate is planned for the third quarter of 2022. Reaching the declared capacity is planned by the fourth quarter of 2022.
