London, UK, 29th September 2016 – Key decision makers from Royal Mail, Amazon, Alibaba, feelunique, Tesco, Mothercare, ASDA, M&S, John Lewis, Barbour, Wayfair, Ocado, and FedEx Cross Border, among other leading brands, will join the board-level discussion at the eDelivery Conference (EDC) this year.
The UK’s only dedicated retail fulfilment and operations conference, taking place on 11th October at Novotel Hammersmith, will bring together the most innovative supply chain leaders, who are reinventing traditional operational structures. They will be addressing the latest trends and developments, as well as the best strategies for the “S-O-L-D” (Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics and Delivery) industry.
An opening Keynote session lead by Ben Farrell, MBE, Head of Central Operations and Transport at John Lewis and Katie McQuaid, Director Fulfilment at Amazon UK, will focus on Strategy. It will give attendees a glimpse into the inner workings of the retail boardroom, in particular, addressing how to re-invent traditional logistics models, together with their opportunities and costs, to better suit customers’ demands.
Some of the key learning tracks with deployable, practical advice will also be seen at the Roundtables, where several industry experts will explore how to improve operational performance.
Edward Osborne, Head of Customer Delivery Model & Direct to Customer Operations at John Lewis, will be leading a roundtable on the advantages of dropship deliveries against other more established methods of fulfilment. Among others, he will also be joined by Kamal Bal, Head of Online Performance of M&S, exploring strategies to put customer experience at the heart of online; Paul Johnson-Barnett, Head of Distribution at Barbour, discussing how to crack international markets through fulfilment; and Nils Breitmann, Enterprise Architect of Intershop, presenting solutions to manage complex order flows.
Visitors attending the show will also get a first-hand look at the latest research and technology, looking at where the future lies for fulfilment and multichannel operations. Industry innovators and analysts like IMRG, Electio and Pitney Bowes will be sharing their exclusive reports on the costs associated with failing to meet customers’ expectations in delivery, customer behaviour and the arts and science of shipping.
Roger Morris, Head of Royal Mail Parcels, will also be presenting a case study on the transformative route the company had to undergo to expand its capabilities and deliver better services to thrive in this modern environment.
The show is set to help retailers better understand logistics and supply chain complexities to convert the latest demands of the ‘always on’, ‘anytime, anywhere’ consumer into a competitive opportunity. In addition, many new and exciting products set to maximise retailers’ fulfilment strategy will also be unveiled at the show.
Complementary to EDC, the well-established 11th InternetRetailing Conference (IRC) – taking place on 12th October at the same venue – will focus on all the new key retail, ecommerce and mobile trends, as well as the developments that are currently shaping the multichannel landscape.
