Dear friends! We present to your attention the fifth issue of Logistics for 2024. Like you, our dear readers, we see an increasing trend of digitalization and automation of the logistics industry, and more and more authors are paying attention to it.
You have got a new issue of the Russian Logistics Journal ‒ 2017. It is designed to acquaint the audience with the activities of the Russian-speaking journal ‒ “Logistics”, which has been published in the Russian Federation for more than 20 years, as well as the achievements of the Russian logistics in 2016.
The issue presents the articles reflecting the level of the logistics development in the country. We invite the Readers to pay attention to the results of the annual survey of the level and trends of the logistics development in the Russian Federation, as they are shown in the article by Dmitry Efimenko and Vasily Demin “Logistics development in Russia: current situation, forecast, key challenges and priorities of companies” – research findings. The research is traditionally conducted within 12 years from December to January and includes the survey of manufacturing, trade and logistics companies, analysis of strategic data, identification of common problems, experts’ estimates.
The article by Dmitry Stapran “How and why do companies outsource logistics in Russia?” Will trigger the interest of experts. The author examines the history of logistics outsourcing in the Russian Federation. The analysis is based on the industries with the largest volume of logistics operations ‒ mining, trade, etc. Tendencies and forecasts of the development of logistics operations outsourcing in Russia are given.
The article by Andrei Pavlovich “The procurement of services does not end with the selection of a supplier...” gives the experience of Coca-Cola Hellenic in Russia in outsourcing logistics services. It describes the organization and holding of tenders for outsourcing, there are given the criteria for the tender for the provision of logistics services to be a success.
The impact of globalization on the development of logistics is considered in the articles by Andrey Kryazhev, Timur Yakubov, Sergei Zimin, “The potential of establishing a regular transcontinental high-speed freight rail traffic” and by Suren Chibukhchyan "Transit opportunities of the Eurasian Economic Union". Single information and economic space, being formed as a result of rapid development of technologies, determines the development of a number of trends related to the globalization of the goods and services market, logistics included.
