Dear readers! We present to your attention the final issue of the LOGISTICS journal in 2024. We have tried to make it rich and interesting. Today, many Russian companies operate under strict sanctions restrictions, which force them to reorient logistics flows. One of the possible solutions to this problem may be the Russia – Mongolia – China economic corridor. Details can be found in the article by Alexandra Kazunina.
CEMAT exhibition in Hanover, one of the largest events in the field of intralogistics, has come to an end. “LOGISTICS” journal participated directly in the event by presenting the annual digest in English «RUSSIAN LOGISTICS JOURNAL» on its stand. All the days of the event, our editorial board closely followed the work of the exhibition.
CeMAT 2016 was held under the motto “Smart Supply Chain Solutions”. The first results were evident on the 3rd of June on the closing day of the exhibition, when it became clear that the share of foreign visitors increased significantly this year. For four days, nearly 1,000 exhibiting companies from 44 countries (55% of the exhibitors were foreign companies) have presented solutions for efficient and intelligent management of logistics chains. Visitors were able to see that the smart warehouse is a reality.
The motto of CeMAT “Smart Supply Chain Solutions” was not chosen by chance, the exhibition organizers have focused on the automation and management of logistics processes in the future. Due to the special role which the information technology plays in logistics, it was given a lot of attention at the exhibition. CeMAT 2016 clearly showed how industry solves problems and creates added value.
Intralogistics and the scopes of its application were discussed daily at three forums of CeMAT. The themes of the reports included the warehouse management system (WMS), Supply Chain Management, digitized transport systems (DTS), apps and “smart device” for the warehouse. The industry experts discussed how the Internet of things and Industry 4.0 would change the intralogistics. The speakers, who spoke at the Keynote Forum, told the listeners how to improve the efficiency of intralogistics processes. Representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises could learn what benefits they would be able to get from digitization of the logistics sector.
Industry of Packaging Technology conducted its own forum, its main themes being accessibility, efficiency and profitability of intralogistics equipment.
The current exhibition of CeMAT revealed the rapid growth of requirements for intralogistics. Decisions have to be smart, consistent, flexible, transparent, fast and effective. This is possible only due to new concepts of Industry 4.0, which provide accurate, smart integration of production and logistics.
In this connection, CeMAT together with HANNOVER MESSE plans to conduct the international exhibition of industrial technologies in 2018.
CeMAT exhibition established thematic connections with the sectors of industrial automation and the digital factory of HANNOVER MESSE. Beginning with 2018, these two events combined will be able to use the advantage of the synergy around Industry 4.0. This creates a unique global event which shows the whole spectrum of modern technology in one place.
Profile of CeMAT 2016 visitors shows that this year's event in Hannover attracted more foreign guests, namely 39% (2014 - 30%). Of these, 62% visitors came from EU countries and 20% from Asia (in 2014 - 12%). The largest number of visitors came from the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Sweden, France, China, Spain, the Czech Republic, Belgium and the UK.
